Carol Ann McDevitt, age 77, of Greeley died Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert N. McDevitt, in 2016. Born December 31, 1940, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Valentine Grey Stryker and Gertrude Katherine (Kloss) Stryker. A Greeley resident for 48 years, she was a library aide at Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School until her retirement in 2006. Carol was a member of Hawley United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her German shepherds and walks in the woods. She enjoyed antiques and collectibles, cooking, painting, and camping with her husband. She is survived by one daughter: Donna Capo of Scranton; four sons: Mark and his wife Resi of Greeley, Matthew and his wife Kristen of West Valley, UT, Steven of Honesdale, and Marc and his wife Cynthia of King Of Prussia; one brother: Gerald Stryker of Washington; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, from 10 to 12 noon at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St., Hawley, PA. The funeral follow at 12 noon at the church with Rev. Jeff Levy officiating. Burial will be in German Hill Cemetery, Shohola. Memorials may be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Rd., Honesdale, PA 18431
