Obituary of Thomas W. Jurlando Sr.

Thomas W. Jurlando, Sr., age 72, of Greentown died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cecilia V. (Mannino) Jurlando.

Born September 26, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas Salvatore and Virginia (Genova) Jurlando. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a patient escort and nurse's aide at Coney Island Hospital.

He moved with his family to Greentown in 1987 and was a member of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church in Paupack. He enjoyed listening to Oldies and keeping his yard and home immaculate. However, his most treasured hours were spent with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters: Ann-Marie Lindh and her husband Edward of Oceanside, NY, Tina-Marie Garra and her husband William of Old Bridge, NJ, Lenore Otway and her husband Richard of Greentown, and Mary Schwartz and her husband Thomas of Hawley; two sons: Christopher Pearce and his wife Jennifer of Oceanside, NY and Thomas Jurlando Jr. and his wife Cindy of Boyertown, PA; one sister: Mary Beneduce and her spouse Juliann of Fort Worth, TX; two brothers: Salvatore Beneduce and his wife Tina of Brooklyn, NY and Michael Beneduce and his wife Lori of Fort Worth, TX; and his grandchildren: Joseph, Isabella, Jenna, Alexandra, John, Daniel, Christopher, Alannah, Dylan, Salvatore and Gianluca.

Calling hours will be Sunday, December 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass on Monday, December 17, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Private cremation will follow at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
